American Scientists Find Genes to Help Rice Resist the Rice Blast

Scientists in the United States have found genes that help protect rice against rice blast. Rice blast is a disease that can reduce infected crops by 30%. Rice is one of the world's major food crops, and two-thirds of the world’s population depends on it for survival. Even after years of research, scientists have been unable to withstand the rice blast that caused rice blast, which is a very adaptable pathogen that can defeat rice's protective barrier. The Maryland Agricultural Research Service Center of the United States has been seriously studying the genome map of the rice blast fungus that was drawn in 2002 and compared it with the disease-resistant rice genome to try to find a way to eliminate the disease. Rice carrying the new gene will respond to germs harboring the AVR1-C039-a gene and limit possible damage.
