Concentrate sheep technology

Concentrated sheep breeding technology has the characteristics of rapid growth, early slaughter, and high returns. It is a new technology for raising farmers' scales and rapid entrepreneurship and enrichment.

Choosing excellent breeding goats uses good Boer goats as male parents, and multiple pregnant goats as maternal females for crossbreeding. After several years of screening, the offspring have large size, fast growth, mixed feeding habits, and strong resistance to diseases. They can be slaughtered at 5 months of age and weigh 40 to 50 kilograms. The breeding ewes have many births, and the breeding coefficient is high. This law applies to eastern Henan.

Feeding technology is mainly based on small-scale farming in rural areas, simplifies management, saves material, saves time, and saves labor.

Young lambs fed 2 months old lamb rely on breastfeeding. After 2 months of age, artificial feeding was conducted and the formula was formulated (per sheep per day): 250 grams of wheat bran, 125 grams of dried bean curd residue, and 750 grams of crop starch (ground with peanut meal or sweet potato vine). Feeding time: Artificial feeding for 3 months. Feeding methods: The temperature in winter is low, the concentrate is mainly dry, and the goat eats some warm boiled water. In the spring, summer and autumn seasons, the concentrate can be fed with warm water and then wetted.

Sheep feed concentrate formula (per day per sheep): 500 g wheat bran, 250 g dried bean curd residue, 1000 g crop starch. Feed according to the young sheep's feeding method.

Disease prevention and control Under small-scale breeding conditions, it is necessary to keep the sheep pens clean and hygienic. In winter, it is necessary to clean the laps every 5 days, and in the summer, it should be cleaned every 3 days.

Common diarrhea is common in sheep. Some antidiarrheal medicines can be prepared and taken as indicated. In addition, due to the hollowness of the sheep's hoof, it is necessary to work hoof repairs to prevent foot diseases.

Note that according to the current situation in rural areas, young and middle-aged labor is more than that of migrant workers. Most of the left-behind employees are women and children and weak labor force over the age of 50. Therefore, it is advisable for the family to raise sheep in order to control 20 sheep to be slaughtered at the age of 5 months. The percentage of males and females kept in the sheep is 1:8. Ewes are suitable for conceiving each year in early April and early August. In addition, farmers are encouraged to grow more peanuts, sweet potatoes, carrots, etc. to increase the source of sheep's feed, which will help reduce the input of concentrates.
