On September 5, the Ministry of Health issued an announcement stating that according to the relevant provisions of the "Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Measures for the Management of New Resource Food," the approval of medium and long-chain fatty acid edible oils and wheat oligopeptides as new resource foods increased the amount of Jerusalem artichoke. As a raw material for new resource food inulin, resistant dextrins are published as general foods.
The announcement requires that the production and operation of the above-mentioned food should comply with the relevant laws, regulations and standards.
It is reported that edible oils of medium- and long-chain fatty acids are derived from edible vegetable oils, medium-chain triglycerides (derived from edible coconut oil and palm kernel oil), wheat oligopeptides from wheat gluten, and resistant dextrin from food starch.
