In-gel fluorescence detection

In-gel fluorescence detection enables rapid imaging after electrophoresis without the need for staining and western blot steps

In-gel fluorescence detection is very popular in the following studies:

● Confirmation of fusion protein expression

● Protein interaction analysis

● Gel retardation experiment


Fusion proteins produced in vivo or in vitro can be detected quickly, without the need to go to the blotting membrane for western blot analysis, saving significant time.

The image below shows the interaction of fluorescently labeled ubiquitin with its bound ubiquitin activating enzymes E1, E2 after incubation for a period of time, excitation light 470 nm, detection of 497 nm emission, and the experiment was performed in an Azure c600 imaging system.


Stain freeTM is a special ingredient added to the gelatin reagent. When combined with tryptophan in the protein, the whole protein band can be detected without UV staining under UV excitation.
