Measurement dilemma: In the case of measuring ultrapure water, low temperature and low ion water pH value, the traditional pH electrode uses a permeate reference electrode system, and the electrolyte exchanges ions with the liquid to be tested through the porous liquid junction. Affects the accuracy of the pH measured by the test solution. Typically, a permeate reference electrode system may produce a potential error of about 0.3 pH due to ion exchange through the liquid junction when measured in ultrapure water or low temperature low ion water.

SNEX refers to a solid, non-porous, non-exchanged reference electrode system. Unlike traditional liquid-liquid junction reference electrode systems, SNEX uses a highly stable, non-exchanged polymer interface as a reference electrode and liquid level. The entire outer surface of the contact is the electrochemical reaction zone, and the large contact area greatly reduces the likelihood of the reference electrode being clogged.

The non-porous design and the reference liquid are not exchanged with the liquid to be tested, which eliminates the possibility of ion drift, thus ensuring stable and accurate pH reading.
