The situation of prevention and treatment is severe. All localities must earnestly implement various prevention and control measures to further prevent and treat HFMD.

The notification requires that health administrative departments at all levels should closely communicate and coordinate with education, publicity, and other departments to strengthen supervision, inspection, and comprehensive evaluation. Disease prevention and control agencies at all levels must effectively monitor etiology, arrange special personnel to dynamically monitor the information on the HFMD epidemic in the jurisdiction, and find out that major epidemics report in a timely manner. Medical institutions should conscientiously perform the responsibilities for the detection and reporting of hand, foot and mouth disease, and qualified medical institutions should actively carry out laboratory tests.

The notice emphasized that it is necessary to improve the early recognition ability of severe cases and do a good job in medical treatment. Severe cases were collected and sent to designated general hospitals or child specialist hospitals with severe treatment capabilities to reduce the mortality rate. Give full play to the role of the diagnosis and treatment expert group, go deep into the epidemic areas, carry out rounds of consultation and training, and guide local medical treatment. We will give full play to the hand-foot-mouth disease counterpart support function, and provide counterpart support through technical training and severe case consultation. We must earnestly implement measures to ensure medical expenses for hand-foot-and-mouth disease and strive to prevent children from getting timely treatment due to cost.
